Completed in 1903, the building is an auditorium for multiple events. It contained a radio program at one time. The basement has housed a bookstore, student post office, snack room, student government office, game room, drama classrooms, and offices. It was named in 1972,for Franklin B.Launer, Director of the Conservatory of Music from 1926-1962. Herbert A. and Mary C. Doty Lounge for students was dedicated in 1975.The basement now has the technical services department help desk and offices.
